new life for an old chair

After my grandmother in Clemson passed away, I inherited a pink chair from her that had been in her living room for as long as I can remember. I am not sure where she got it or who it came from, but I have liked having it in the different places I've lived over the years. While I lived in Columbia, it was housed in my bedroom and was a great receptacle for clothes that I could never seem to find time to hang up.

Richard and I needed extra seating in our Maryland living room, so we've kept it downstairs next to our fireplace. For almost a year I often thought that it needed to be recovered, and we finally got it done in South Carolina! The fabric came off the sale table from a little fabric store in Spartanburg, and a friend of my mother-in-law's did the upholstery (which was $400 cheaper than it would have been in DC!).

What do you think? Does it need a solid color pillow? Throw?

At first I was afraid the fabric was a little too busy, but the room has a lot of neutrals that benefit from the additional pop of color. Now if we could only find a fun, reasonably-priced coffee table!
